God has said: كنت كنزا مخفيا فاحببت ان اعرف فخلقت الخلق لا عرف (Kashful Khifa, v. 2, p. 156) This is perhaps not a saying of the Prophet, but of a saint from the past. It means: I was a hidden treasure, then I wanted to be known and I created man. There is no second opinion on the fact that God is the first best of the universe. Similarly, there is no second opinion on human beings having the capacity or potential to be the second best of the universe. Can there be a thrilling experience greater than this? There is no thrilling experience greater than this. Yet days are going past, centuries are passing by, and there are very few persons who are worthy of being called the second best of the universe.

Why? Every person lives in the glory of other than God. He lives in thoughts of other than God. For example, the glory of money, material comfort or political power. There are many things other than God which people consider great and begin to live for them. The seat of the second best is lying vacant. There is a philosophy developed in the present age called humanism. Humanism means transfer of seat from God to man. This is very foolish indeed. Humans cannot take the seat of God. Humans didn’t take the seat meant for them, and made plans to take the place of God.

A philosopher wrote a book titled Man Stands Alone. These are baseless ideas which have no reality. If any person amongst us aspires to achieve something great, he should know there is no aspiration or desire greater than to aspire to be the second best of the universe. This is the person who acknowledges God, discovers God and realizes God, he acknowledges the greatness of God and surrenders before Him.
